Oud-Zuid escorts for evenings near the Vondelpark

Oud-Zuid is the city at its most stately. Museumplein opens out behind the Rijksmuseum, flanked on one side by the Stedelijk and the Van Gogh Museum, while the Concertgebouw closes off the far end, where evening concerts spill out onto the square. The avenues are wider than in the canal belt, so a car can often pull up right outside, which keeps the arrival itself quick and discreet. The main exception is the half hour after a concert at the Concertgebouw or an event on Museumplein, when the surrounding streets fill with taxis.
