If you haven't arrived yet
Booking before you have checked in, or before you are actually home, is completely fine. Tell us your expected arrival time and we will pace her departure so she isn't standing in a lobby waiting for a key, or outside a private address waiting for a light to come on.
As soon as you are settled in, one short message with the room number or a ready door is all it takes. There is no penalty at all for booking early and confirming the exact minute later on.
Guests coming straight from the airport or a late meeting often find this the easiest way to book, everything is arranged well ahead of time, with only the final minute left to confirm once you are actually there, rather than trying to organise anything mid-journey.
For an apartment or private rental
Rentals and private homes come with details a hotel doesn't: a lockbox code, a shared front door with several buzzers, a stairwell with no number on the flat itself. Do I need to tell my hotel anything in advance?
